Women on Water
Please note WOW start time in September is now at 5:30pm (due to the earlier sunset). Please ensure you arrive 10 minutes earlier, so we can get on the water on time
Key points:
Registration opens on a rolling basis on Wednesdays at 8am for the following Tuesday.
If you would like to request a particular boat please send us an email or call the office to let us know. Also, ensure you arrive early so you have your pick of boats that are avaiable.
WOW fills up quickly so we recommend registering right when it opens. You must be registered for WOW in order to join the group. Renters cannot join the group on the water
Overview
Women on Water is a wonderful event on Tuesday evenings throughout the summer where women* who are 16+ of all paddling abilities come together for a relaxed, semi-guided paddle. This is a great opportunity to connect with other paddlers, socialize, make new friends and just go for a paddle together.
*”Women on Water” is inclusive and welcomes (but is not limited to): cis-gender women, nonbinary folks, transgender women, 2-spirited folks, those who are exploring or do not conform to gender identity, and those who feel safe and included in our space
Registration opens each Wednesday morning at 8am for the following week.
You must be registered in order to join the group. Unfortunately, if WOW is full, you cannot rent a kayak from us or bring your own boat and just join the group on the water. (This is for everyone’s safety. It allows us to maintain the industry standard ratio of one guide for every six guests, and helps the guides to ensure they bring back the same number of guests as they took out!)

Are you planning to come on a regular basis? It might be worth getting our Season’s Pass or our All-Inclusive Save-on-Six Rental Pass.
Sliding Scale Pricing
What is sliding scale pricing?
The idea behind sliding scale pricing is that there are multiple price points available to participate in this activity. This is to make the program more accessible and to help reduce financial barriers for people with different levels of income.
If you have the financial means please pay our ‘default’ pricing ($45). If you do not have the means you can choose to pay a lower price ($35). If you have extra means available please consider selecting the “generous” option ($55).
Scholarship Fund
We are excited to announce that parts of the proceeds from WOW will be directed towards a scholarship fund which will be used to offer spots in our summer camps for families who wouldn’t be able to afford them otherwise.
$10 of our default price for WOW will be directed to the scholarship fund.
If you select the ‘generous’ option for your WOW participation $20 will be directed to the scholarship fund.
Double Kayak discount and BYO Kayak
With the introduction of our sliding scale pricing, we have discontinued the discount for using a double kayak.
However, if you would like to paddle a double kayak with your paddling partner you are very welcome to select the “accessible” price option for each of you.
If you would like to participate with your own kayak you are also welcome to choose the “accessible” price option. This will help us pay our instructors and for the logistic of organizing this wonderful event.
