Group Booking Policies

Detailed Booking Policy

Initial Bookings:

Upon inquiry, we will contact you to discuss program options and approximate group numbers. You will receive a quote for your activity.

  • A 25% deposit is required to confirm a booking, payable via credit card.
  • The deposit is due ASAP to confirm your booking.
  • Your booking is not confirmed until we receive the deposit.
  • Paying the deposit signifies your acknowledgment and agreement to the outlined booking policies

Payments:

  • A 25% deposit is due at the time of booking. This amount will be applied to your final invoice.
  • A booking fee of $10 per participant will apply to any modifications in group numbers exceeding 25% of the initial headcount.
  • 48 Hours Prior to Your Booking
    • Payment of the final invoice is due.
    • One payment must be provided for the entire group.
    • Please confirm the final number of expected participants for your paddling program. The final invoice will be based on this number.

Notes:

  • If no final numbers were provided, the client will be charged, at least, for the number of participants estimated at the time of booking. Furthermore, it is not guaranteed that we will be able to accommodate an increased number of participants due to kayak availability and guide to participants’ ratio.
  • If multiple activities are booked, then full payment is due 48 hours prior to the last activity.
  • If no alternate payment arrangements have been made and no payment has been received by the end of the program the provided credit card will be charged the full cost of the program.

Participation:

  • Minimum age for our group bookings is 9 years old. If (some) of your participants are younger please contact us so we can discuss your options.
  • All participants must be present for the boat and safety talk. The safety talk (10-15 minutes) is included in your tour time.
  • Waivers or acknowledgment of risk forms must be signed and submitted to Jericho Beach Kayak before the program.
  • Participants under 19 require a signed Informed Consent Form from a parent or legal guardian. Any participant under the age of 19 without a signed form will NOT be permitted to participate in on-water activities.
  • For programs using double kayaks, all teachers/chaperones/activity leaders are required to paddle in double kayaks unless the total number of participants is odd in which case one adult will be required to use a single kayak.
  • Jericho Beach Kayak is not responsible for any personal items left at or near our hut before, during, or after any program. Valuables should be left at school, on the bus, or with a chaperone that is staying on land. Our hut is equipped with about 20 small cubicles open to the public where small backpacks can be stored for the duration of your program.

Cancellation and rescheduling:

  • Cancellations must be made via email, over the phone, or in person with the Group Bookings Coordinator.
  • Cancellation timeline:
    • Cancellations 14+ Days Prior to Your Booking will receive a full refund of the deposit
    • Cancellations less than 14 Days Prior to Your Booking will forfeit their deposit
    • A minimum of 7 days’ notice is required to reschedule any program (subject to availability).
    • In the occurrence of a no-show or cancellation within 48 hours of the program, the client is subject to a full charge.
  • A booking fee of $10 per participant will apply to any modifications in group numbers exceeding 25% of the initial headcount.
  • All programs run rain or shine.
  • Jericho Beach Kayak reserves the right to cancel any program without prior warning.
