Kayak Rentals Overview

Come kayaking in Vancouver! BC’s West Coast is one of the top kayaking destinations in the world, making Vancouver one of the best cities for kayaking in the area!

Jericho Beach Kayak Centre is conveniently located right outside the heart of the city, yet you will still have an amazing experience paddling around in English Bay, exploring our local beaches, and enjoying stunning views of the mountains that surround the Vancouver area. What better way is there to explore these waters than with a kayak rental from us?

We have one of the largest kayak rental fleets in Canada, with a diverse range of boats suitable for beginners to advanced paddlers, that can accommodate all shapes and sizes. Our knowledgeable staff can assist you in picking the right watercraft for your needs.

You can rent for a minimum of two hours or take the whole day.

We also offer Season’s Passes, as well as a Save on Six Rental Pass which gives you up to 40% off on our rentals.

All kayak rentals include a paddle, PFD, whistle, spray skirt, bailing device and 15m of tow line, and all single kayaks have double bulkheads.

*Kayakers wishing to paddle alone (1 person solo on the water) must have experience doing a solo re-entry (for example by having taken our Beginner Course)

*2 or more Adults may paddle in single kayaks without restriction or certification assuming they stay together at all times on the water

**Price is per person. Kids 7-12 only pay $45 for a guided rental (they must be accompanied by one adult per child)

Key Policies

Group Policy

For the best experience and to optimize safety we do limit kayak rental groups to a maximum of 8 people. If your group is larger please contact us to inquire about our group paddling options

Kids Policy:

Children are permitted in our kayaks but must be accompanied by an adult.

• There must be one or more adult for each child under the age of 16.
• Children under 12 must be in a double kayak with an adult and must stay close to shore.
• Youth 12-16 can be in a single kayak (if they are over 5′ tall, have taken a lesson or camp with us, and have an adult going with them)
• Please call us to clarify any restrictions to avoid disappointment.

Plans change, things happen. We get it!

Please refer to our Cancellation Policy page to see the notice we need in order to cancel your booking.

In any case, we do appreciate it if you could let us know sooner than later if you are planning to cancel so we can give your spot to somebody else if possible.
