Note: To operate a marine VHF radio in Canada, you are legally required to have a ROC-M (Restricted Operator’s Certificate (Maritime)).

This online course is a fantastic option for folks who want to study at their own time or who live in areas where no in-person courses and exams are offered.
With this online course you will:
- Dive into the same radio procedures as our in-person class: DSC, GMDSS, Distress / Urgency / Safety / Routine calls, procedural words & phonetic alphabet
- Set your own schedule with digital modules, downloadable content, quizzes and recordings covering all the key topics
- Access the exam when you feel ready; once passed you receive ROC(M) with DSC endorsement, good for life

- You will then receive a link to an online platform where you can study at your own time and even do practice exams.
- Once you feel ready you will
- first take the written exam online
- contact us to set up a 30min appointment for the oral exam which will be conducted over zoom
- Upon passing the written and oral exam you will be awarded your Restricted Operator Certificate (Maritime) -ROC(M) card.
